Buddy Writing

The wait is nearly over until we meet our new Principal- Mr Jamieson!!! Check out our stories we wrote about Mr Jamieson with our buddies.

Here comes Mr Jamieson in a stripy car. He has big orange glowing glasses. He looks like Harry Potter and he looks magic too. He likes fish and chips, pizza, and lamb from the farm.
From Max C, William L and Jayden

Mr Jamieson used to work at Onekawa Primary School in Napier. Now he is coming to phenomenal Argyll East School to teach and be our principal. We think he will be a great and cool principal and we can’t wait to meeting and have him at Argyll East School. We are sure he will bring lots of new and exciting thing to our school and the seniors will enjoy having him as their new teacher.
By Jaime, Connor, Lucas and Gabriella

Yay its Mr Jamieson!! Mr Jamieson will be welcomed to AEDS by a hangi, presentation and mihi whakatau. He will be the senior room teacher and principal. We hope he has many happy years at Argyll.

Discovery Time 15th June

Today during Discovery Time we made fishing rods out of bamboo, string and paper clips. We then made fish and put magnets on them. We had to try and catch them. It was quite tricky.
Beau and Robi made a really big robot out of all the boxes we have at the craft table and Rhys and Tyrone designed a really long race track. It took them a long time.

Reading Feedback

Some of the Year 2's have been reading in front of the class and we have been learning to give feedback to their reading. Check out Deluca's reading and then her feedback.

Beau- she had a nice voice and she read even fixed up some words.

Rose- Deluca read fluently

Rhys- I like the way she read clearly

Max C- She read really good and she showed us pictures in the book. Deluca said that she thinks she needs to speaker louder so everyone can hear her.
