Buddy Writing

The wait is nearly over until we meet our new Principal- Mr Jamieson!!! Check out our stories we wrote about Mr Jamieson with our buddies.

Here comes Mr Jamieson in a stripy car. He has big orange glowing glasses. He looks like Harry Potter and he looks magic too. He likes fish and chips, pizza, and lamb from the farm.
From Max C, William L and Jayden

Mr Jamieson used to work at Onekawa Primary School in Napier. Now he is coming to phenomenal Argyll East School to teach and be our principal. We think he will be a great and cool principal and we can’t wait to meeting and have him at Argyll East School. We are sure he will bring lots of new and exciting thing to our school and the seniors will enjoy having him as their new teacher.
By Jaime, Connor, Lucas and Gabriella

Discovery Time 15th June

Today during Discovery Time we made fishing rods out of bamboo, string and paper clips. We then made fish and put magnets on them. We had to try and catch them. It was quite tricky.
Beau and Robi made a really big robot out of all the boxes we have at the craft table and Rhys and Tyrone designed a really long race track. It took them a long time.

LADYBUGS

We have been learning to write descriptions. This week we have described ladybugs. First we had to research information and then brainstorm. Then we put all our information together to write a description.

Ladybugs are red with black spots.
They have six legs.
Ladybugs fl y with their little wings and crawl with their little legs. They like to eat aphids and mites and other little bugs alive.
A Ladybug has four stages of a lifecycle – egg, larvae, pupa and an adult.
